The strategy is being backed by German Institutional investors and will see the company invest in core and core plus assets in the retail sector.
In particular BMO, which was formerly known as F&C REIT Asset Management, will invest in assets on prime high street locations in European cities.
Ian Kelly, fund director Europe at BMO Real Estate Partners, will manage the strategy from Paris.
Nick Criticos, chief executive of BMO Real Estate Partners, said: “We have seen strong interest from our clients for a cross-border product encompassing the UK and Continental Europe and our new strategy has been specifically designed to meet that demand.
“Our established expertise, along with the appointment of Ian Kelley to our Paris office, has enabled us to create our first pan-European strategy, which is proving to be a compelling proposition for our clients. We expect to launch additional pan-European property products in the future.”
