BMW is expected to announce early next month it has selected a site near Goodwood racecourse, in West Sussex, to build the next generation of Rolls-Royce cars.
It has identified a site near Chichester to build the £100m plant although other less popular possibilities include Oxford, Derby and Crewe.
BMW had previously been thought to prefer the Oxford option using production space at its Cowley plant but Sussex is now emerging as the favourite.
