BNP Paribas Real Estate is considering closing its Edinburgh office.
The firm is understood to be in consultation with several fee earners in its office at 20 Charlotte Square, which opened in 1992.
Three senior directors are based in the Edinburgh office: Gavin Willins, head of the Edinburgh office; Gary Cameron, senior director, investment; and Andrew Cartmail, senior director, lease advisory.
Some employees could be moved to the Glasgow office, which opened in 2015 with a specialist retail and leisure team but could be used to offer the full range of real estate services for Scotland.
The move marks a reversal in BNP Paribas Real Estate’s strategy in 2010, when it closed its Glasgow office, saying it would service all its Scottish clients from its Edinburgh office.
It is understood BNP Paribas Real Estate’s decision to review the future of the Edinburgh office was part of a review of its property strategy.
A BNP Paribas Real Estate spokesman said: “We remain committed to expanding our business in Scotland and continue to offer the full range of real estate services through our teams in Scotland.”
