BNP Paribus takes space in Glasgow’s Aurora scheme

Commercial Estates Group has secured the letting of another floor in its Aurora scheme on Bothwell Street.

BNP Paribas Securities Service is taking 19,300 sq ft at Glasgow‘s most recent and largest grade-A completion. It joins Knight Frank, Barclays Wealth and law firm Burness at the 177,000 sq ft speculative building.

The French bank has secured the space for a rent believed to be £26 per sq ft. The remaining floors at the scheme are now being marketed at over £27 per sq ft, a new headline for the city.

BNP was previously associated with Prudential’s Atlantic Quay scheme on Robertson Street. It is currently based on the city’s West Nile Street where it employs 70 staff.

James Scott, managing director of CEG, said: “I am delighted to announce the news that BNP Paribas Securities Services has taken the second floor at Aurora.

“They are exactly the kind of prestigious, high-profile tenant that we hoped to attract when we decided to build our Grade A, high-specification development, and I am pleased that they will now be joining the other tenants that we have recently announced for the development.”

It is believed that Cushman & Wakefield will announce that it is taking half of the eighth floor in the next few weeks.

Ryden and Jones Lang LaSalle acted for CEG in the transaction. BNP Paribas Securities Services was represented by Atisreal.
