BNP Paribas Real Estate has been hit by the malware attack that has struck companies worldwide.
The attack has not spread to other parts of the company, but has affected the UK real estate arm of the business.
The company said the attack was contained. EG understands that no private information or data was compromised.
A BNP spokesman said: “The international cyber attack touched our non-banking subsidiary, Real Estate. The necessary measures were taken rapidly to contain this attack.”
Companies around the world have reported being hit by the attack, the source of which is still unknown.
Reports have said the virus freezes the user’s computer systems and demands payment in Bitcoin currency.
