BNP Paribas Real Estate has launched a pop-up retail team and appointed Denizer Ibrahim to lead it.
Ibrahim, the former head of projects at Appear Here, is to drive a first-of-its-kind division that will advise on pop-up and transient retail strategies. Growth in the sector rose to a reported £2.3bn in 2015.
Ibrahim will report to UK head of retail Joanne Skilton, who joined in January from Battersea Power Station Development Company where she was head of commercial leasing.
Skilton said: “Transient is no longer a short-term solution, either for landlords or international brands. It is an important part of long-term retail strategy. Denizer brings with him a wealth of experience and some fresh new ideas. We are very excited about him joining the team.”
