BNP PRE posts €155m profit

BNP Paribas Real Estate has reported revenues of €704m (£612m) in 2016, with €155m in profits before tax.

Its investment management business generated €98m in revenues with inflows of more than €1.6bn of new cash in its funds throughout the year.

The business managed €24.1bn of European assets at the end of the year, up by 9.5% from 2015.

Some 72% of overall revenues came from real estate services, with the rest from commercial and residential development.

Office development volume came to €692m with about 166,000 sq ft of completions. It expects to launch 10 schemes in France and continental Europe in 2017.

BNP Paribas Real Estate’s residential business generated a business volume of more than €1bn, 28% above 2015 figures, completing 1,847 homes.

Thierry Laroue-Pont, chief executive of BNP Paribas Real Estate, said: “Despite the difficult geopolitical environment in 2016, real estate markets have generally held up well. All our business lines are progressing as a whole.”
