Bond Wolfe Auctions raises £11.4m in second sale of the year

Bond Wolfe Auctions’ second auction of the year at The Holte Suite, Aston Villa FC, raised £11.4m from an 85% success rate. A total 91 of 108 lots on offer sold.

Residential highlights included a two-bedroom cottage in the highly sought-after area of Lapworth, Warwickshire, which sold for £232,000 from a guide of £99,000 following fierce competition in the auction room.

In Watery Lane, Alvechurch, a lot offering over 4.5 acres of land and containing a small working equestrian yard of five stables and outbuildings (pictured) sold for £130,000 from a guide price of £70,000.

There was also strong bidding for 166 Tennal Road, Birmingham, a three-bedroom mid-terraced property in the city’s Harborne area, which sold for £212,500 from a guide price of £99,000.

One of the hottest lots of the day was 3 Carlyle Road in Edgbaston, Birmingham, which has been converted into three self-contained flats. Offered with a guide price of £100,000, the hammer eventually fell after a protracted battle in the auction room for £316,000.

Commercial lots also fared well, with a vacant freehold end terrace property at 266 Newton Road in Great Barr, Birmingham, realising £206,000 from a guide price of £99,000.

Bond Wolfe Auctions’ next sale takes place on 3 July at Aston Villa FC.
