Bond Wolfe sale on course to be a regional record breaker

Bond Wolfe Auctions has said that its February sale will be the first single ballroom property auction outside London to include more than 200 lots.

The Birmingham-based auction house, which was established in January 2019 by Gurpreet Bassi and Ian Tudor, announced that its first sale of the year will include 215 lots – a record for a regional auctioneer.

The firm said that Bassi and Tudor also held the previous record for holding the biggest property auction outside London during their time as the heads of residential and commercial auctions at the Bigwood auctions business. In May 2018, they offered 172 lots at auction in Birmingham, although 24 were withdrawn before the sale started.

Last week, the auctioneer announced it had won a competitive tender to become official auctioneer for Walsall Council. The firm has already auctioned off surplus properties for Birmingham City Council and West Midlands Police.

“Since the General Election, confidence has surged back into the property market,” said Bassi. “Demand is also up from small to medium developers, with new starts on site being announced every day.”

Bond Wolfe’s first 2020 auction will be held on 27 February at The Holte Suite, Aston Villa FC.
