Booker picks Swan Valley for latest distribution scheme

Swan Hill and Norwich Union have sold a 8.49 ha (21 acre) site at Swan Valley Distribution Park, Northampton, to Booker for around £6.6m.

Booker subsidiary McConnell Properties has submitted proposals for a 27,870 sq m (300,000 sq ft) distribution centre on the site. The deal is subject to planning consent.

Following Wells Soft Drinks and Levi Strauss, Booker is the third major occupier at the scheme. The asking price for land is £315,000 per acre.

Booker’s largest unit to date is the 38,089 sq m (410,000 sq ft) building at Arlington Business Park in Hatfield which is currently under construction. The company is also developing 6,503 sq m (70,000 sq ft) in Basingstoke and 2,787 sq m (30,000 sq ft) in Dundonald.
