Boot strides ahead with Burnley retail scheme

Burnley town centre scheme CGI 350p

Burnley Council has approved Henry Boot Developments’ plans for a retail development in the centre of the Lancashire town.

High street chains Primark and Next have signed up to take the two largest shops as part of the Curzon Street development – equivalent to almost half the 150,000 sq ft that will be created.

The approved plans include further new shops, cafes and a car park.

The development ties in with the ongoing wider development, which includes the £80m University of Central Lancashire and Burnley College campus, plans for an education and enterprise park next to the campus, and improvements to the Princess Way area.
