Boots The Chemists has acquired the Republic of Ireland’s largest chemist chain Hayes Conyngham & Robinson (HCR) for an undisclosed sum.
HCR has 15 stores in Dublin and Cork with approaching 3,000 sq m (32,293 sq ft) of selling space and had a turnover of £15.8m during the year ending 28 February 1997.
Boots currently has seven stores in the Republic with two more opening shortly. the company claims that its new HCR stores are in locations in which Boots is unrepresentded.
