Boots appoints Avison Young on Hearingcare expansion

Boots has instructed Avison Young to lead the nationwide expansion of its Hearingcare business, as it looks to open stand-alone stores under its “World of Hearing” brand.

Boots Hearingcare, a joint venture between Boots Company and hearing solutions provider Sonova Holding, is seeking to expanding its reach beyond traditional Boots stores.

Following the launch of three World of Hearing stores in the south-east of England, in Chelmsford, St Albans and Welwyn Garden City, the company is preparing to open stand-alone branches nationwide.

The focus of the expansion is on securing locations ranging from 1,300 to 2,000 sq ft in shopping centres in UK towns and cities boasting high footfall, with convenient parking facilities.

Dan Kent, principal and managing director, retail at Avison Young UK, said the agent will help the company “drive this ambitious store acquisition programme”.

“We recognise the value of the Boots brand, and our highly experienced retail team in London and across the regions is eager to contribute to the success of Hearingcare’s expansion into stand-alone World of Hearing stores,” said Kent.

Mike Hill, head of property at Boots Hearingcare, said Avison Young was chosen as it offered “a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be essential as we grow our network”.
