Boris unties ribbon on Old Oak Common

Old-Oak-Common-570pxMayor of London Boris Johnson has signed off on a planning framework for the redevelopment of Old Oak Common in west London.

The framework sets out a strategy for one of the largest regeneration projects in the country, which will deliver as many as 24,000 homes over the next 20 years.

The approval came as Cargiant and development partner London & Regional published the responses to a public consultation on plans for the 46-acre Old Oak Park. Cargiant will publish its masterplan, which will include a new cultural quarter featuring a 500,000 sq ft museum and 9,000 homes, in January. Arup, PLP, DP9 and West 8 are advising.
