Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak will urge UK pension scheme to back Britain’s “entrepreneurial spirit” by investing billions of pounds into the UK economy.
The prime minister and chancellor will issue a joint call to action today aimed at “igniting an investment big bang” that will “unlock the hundreds of billions of pounds sitting in UK institutions”.
They want UK funds to follow in the footsteps of Australian and Canadian pension schemes by investing less in listed companies and more in alternatives, including real estate.
