The average FTSE100 boss will earn as much by 5pm today as a typical employee will earn all year.
Researchers at the High Pay Centre think tank and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development found that it now takes chief executives in the top 100 listed companies just three working days to earn more than a typical full-time employee at their company.
Business secretary Andrea Leadsom has called the findings “eye-watering”.
