Bournemouth 10th least affordable housing market

Bournemouth, in Dorset, is one of the least affordable places to buy a house, a survey by US property consultancy Demographia shows.

The town was ranked 10th in Demographia’s survey of housing affordability in 406 markets across nine countries.

The price of a house in Bournemouth is 8.9 times higher than the median local annual household income. That puts it behind San Francisco, at 9.2 times, and survey leader Hong Kong, at 18.1 times, but ahead of London, at 8.5 times.
