Melanie Leech, chief executive of the British Property Federation, has been awarded a CBE for services to the food and drink industry.
Before taking up position at the BPF, Leech was director general of the Food and Drink Federation.
Leech said: “I am delighted to receive the award of CBE. I had nine fantastic years leading the Food and Drink Federation and this award really recognises the hard work of everyone at FDF, who worked to provide a powerful and effective voice for food and drink manufacturing.
“I now hope to make an equally significant impact in championing the real estate sector. This is a sector which not only contributes significantly to the economy, but which adds to the quality of all our lives, building the offices, homes and communities that will serve future generations.
“I look forward to working with government, the BPF executive team and our members to achieve similar successes over the coming years.”
