Richard Branson has submitted a planning application to Westminster Council for a £4m nightclub and restaurant in the Soho district of London’s West End.
To be known as The Venue, Branson’s Virgin Group will develop the club in a joint venture with Forte on the site of the Regent Palace Hotel Annexe at 13-15 Sherwood Street, W1. Branson said: “Our initial idea for The Venue came from our belief that many bars/clubs/restaurants in central London are either not very good or over priced.
Paul Schnepper, regional director of Forte’s London Signature Hotels, said: “We are very excited about the development at The Regent Palace. It is part of our ongoing strategy in London to develop innovative concepts with dynamic brands like Virgin.”
