Breakthrough gets go-ahead for Oxford Trinity House plans

Oxford’s Trinity House site is set to become home to the first StudioLabs co-working lab concept in the UK.

Earlier this month, Breakthrough Properties, a life sciences jv between Tishman Speyer and Bellco Capital, secured an approval from the Oxford City Council to demolish the existing 25,000 sq ft building and replace it with 169,000 sq ft research and development facility.

The plans were lodged early this year and follow on from Breakthrough’s acquisition of a 1.7-acre site for £50m in February last year.

The new six-story building will feature labs and offices alongside pocket spaces and terraces. The plans also include creation of amenity space and wellbeing centres.

The development is scheduled to complete in 2025.
