Office take-up in Bristol was up 61% in 2014 compared to the previous year, with 836,800 sq ft of space changing hands.
This is according to a CBRE report which points to a record fourth-quarter as boosting the numbers. The final quarter included the six largest transactions and accounted for 48% of the annual total.
Peter Martin, associate director of agency and development at CBRE Bristol, said: “With the full-year total for office take-up in the city centre just over 80% up on the five-year average, these results show that Bristol is one of the best-placed cities to take advantage of the improving economic conditions.”
However, Hall said with a lack of grade-A space under construction, the city could struggle to capitalise on this momentum and investors may struggle to find prime assets in the area.
