The buzz has returned to the Bristol market. Around 80 agents, developers, lawyers and public sector representatives from Bristol, Bath and Swindon packed out Bristol’s Hotel du Vin in February for Estates Gazette’s annual reception – and there was an air of tentative optimism.
While no one was denying that conditions are tough or claiming that a development boom was around the corner (see p70), the feeling was that the bottom of the cycle has been reached and that the only way now is upwards.
Adding to the cheer was the announcement of the EGi deals competition winners. Picking up most active regional agent for Bristol, Bath & Swindon was Alder King, and most active national agent was King Sturge.
