ST Microelectronics is poised to sign as first tenant at the QWest Science Park in Emersons Green, north of Bristol.
ST has been in the market for some time with a requirement of up to 90,000 sq ft (8,300 sq m) for its flagship regional headquarters, but it is thought to have settled for 75,000 sq ft (7,000 sq m).
The QWest scheme, backed by both Bristol and Bath Universities, has outline planning permission for 830,000 sq ft (77,100 sq m) of office, research and development space, including an Academic Innovation Centre operated by the two universities. It is owned by Laing Property, London & Metropolitan and Sydney Freed Holdings.
ST Microelectronics, which has a turnover of over £4bn pa, is based at the Aztec West business park on the edge of Bristol.
