MIPIM: The search is on for an operator for Bristol arena.
The city has long had plans for its own entertainment venue and the council approved a £38m package towards the £83m costs to develop it last month.
Bristol mayor George Ferguson is confident the project will start moving forward this year with the search for an operator underway.
The opening of the Leeds Arena last year means that Bristol is the largest UK city without an indoor entertainment venue.
Aside from searching for an operator Ferguson also wants to get the design process underway.
Talking to Estates Gazette at MIPIM he explained his aspirations for the city and what has been achieved so far, 15 months into his tenure as mayor.
