Britannia Hotels has increased its Scottish presence with the acquisition of the Travelodge Edinburgh West End hotel.
The group bought the 178-bedroom hotel off a £10m guide price.
Cordial Hotels, the vendor, received interest from a number of parties including developers, investors and hotel companies from the UK and abroad.
Cordial Hotels has also sold Travelodge hotels in Oldham, Coventry, Stevenage and Bath.
A deal on Travelodge Newcastle Silverlink hotel is expected to be announced soon.
Jeremy Jones, director of corporate hotels at Christie + Co, which acted for Cordial Hotels, said: “Having sold the Waterside Inn in Peterhead to Britannia Hotels earlier this year, Christie + Co is delighted to have assisted further in the group’s expansion plans, both in Scotland and nationally.”
