Jean-Marc Vandevivere is leaving British Land after four years as head of its residential division.
He will be replaced by James Taylor, who has been with the REIT for 11 years, managing its residential portfolio before its sale in 2006. More recently he has worked on the resi redevelopment of Clarges Mayfair, W1.
BL chief executive Chris Grigg said: “Jean-Marc has made an important contribution to our business over the past six-and-a-half years, first in establishing our strategy team at a significant time for our industry, and then by leading our residential business since 2011.”
Vandevivere joined the REIT in 2009 as head of strategy, before taking charge of residential in 2011.
During his tenure BL has developed 284,000 sq ft of residential space in London and has started to move beyond building for sale to exploring new tenures. It announced a move into private rented development in Ealing Broadway, W5, in May this year.
Current residential developments total over 400,000 sq ft.
Vandevivere said: “The residential business is well-placed for its next stage of development, the time is now right for me to take on the next challenge.”
