British Land wants to end a London office lease held by the trading arm of Russia’s Gazprom following the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
Gazprom Marketing & Trading leases space at British Land’s 20 Triton Street at its Regent’s Place campus, NW1. It took 89,000 sq ft at the building back in 2010.
A spokesman for British Land said: “We are shocked and saddened by events in Ukraine. We have a historical contractual agreement with Gazprom at Regent’s Place and will exit this arrangement as soon as we legally can.
“This is a fast-moving, complex situation, and we will continue to review all measures that are available to us, while remaining fully compliant with sanctions requirements.”
Gazprom Marketing & Trading had not responded to a request for comment by the time of publication.
