British Land secures retail lettings in Ealing

British Land has leased 45,000 sq ft in retail space at Ealing Broadway Centre in west London.

The developer has signed five deals with Decathlon, WH Smith, Sports Direct, Explore Learning and stationary and gift shop Neon Sheep.

Existing tenants at the centre include Wagamama, Primark, Oliver Bonas, River Island and Itsu.

Ealing Broadway Centre has an estimated annual footfall of 15m.

It includes 130,000 sq ft of office space at International House, some of which has been allocated to Storey, British Land’s flexible workspace brand.

Ben Grose, head of national leasing at British Land, said: “Ealing Broadway already benefits from fantastic transport infrastructure, which is set to be further improved with the arrival of the Elizabeth line in 2019.

“More widely, Ealing is undergoing a transformation with £1bn of new residential and commercial investment that will continue to enhance its appeal.”

British Land recently announced 457,000 sq ft of retail lettings for the six months ended 30 September 2018.

However, the company’s retail portfolio dropped 4.5% in value in its half year results, contributing to its NAV per share dropping 2.9% to 939p.

Cushman & Wakefield advised British Land on the lettings.
