British Land to buy back £300m of shares

British Land has announced plans to spend up to £300m this financial year on buying back shares.

While the company has continued to sell properties, opportunities to acquire at attractive returns are limited, chief executive Chris Grigg said.

Given that shares are trading at a substantial discount to net asset value, a share buyback represents a clear value opportunity.
