The British Library has posted a prior information notice to initiate its search for a partner to develop a 2.8- acre site within its NW1 estate.
The library wants to deliver new galleries, public spaces and a HQ for the new Alan Turing Institute on the plot, which sits to the north of the Centre for Conservation on Midland Road.
The chosen partner would take the long lease on the site and would be able to develop the remaining space for its own purposes.
The library would receive capital receipt and lease/rental revenue from the new assets, and cash would be reinvested in services that support the library’s public interests.
