British Waterways is looking for a development partner to deliver the residential phase of a new £13m canalside regeneration scheme in Loughborough.

It hopes to add 35 apartments to the site, just off Derby Road.

The first phase saw a jv between British Waterways and local contractors William Davis redevelop 179 student flats, a cafe and restaurant, into a new multi-level building, alongside public open space.

UCS Civils reconfigured the canal basin and mooring areas. Joint agents are Hodgson Elkington and Sturgis Shattock.

British Waterways controls over 2,200 miles of canal in the UK, and has a property portfolio of 1,700 properties worth £520m nationally.

It has established several joint ventures to build homes on its land, including a 5.5m sq ft residential development at Docklands with Canary Wharf Group and Ballymore.
