Brixton Academy or H’smith Apollo might have to be sold

The Competition Commission has said Brixton Academy or Hammersmith Apollo will have to be sold before it will approve Live Nation’s takeover of Academy Music Group. The watchdog said one of them would have to be sold along with either the Shepherd’s Bush Empire or the Forum. This was because the deal would lead to a substantial lessening of competition, resulting in higher rentals at the London venues. The Daily Telegraph 24/01/07 page B2
