Bromsgrove Council fails to overturn order

A story about a court case concerning Asda’s Bromsgrove store, which appeared on EGi at 5pm yesterday, was inaccurate and misleading. We apologise to our readers for the error.

At a High Court hearing on Friday 5 March, Bromsgrove council failed to overturn an interim order preventing it from selling land in close proximity to Asda’s food store on Recreation Road. The retailer argues that the sale of the land to Lingfield, which intends to develop a leisure and cinema complex on the site, threatens the viability of its store. It also claims that it submitted a rival offer for the land, which the council did not properly consider.

The property referred to in the original article – the Bromsgrove Rovers ground – was not connected with the dispute.
