Developer Brookfield Properties has secured lettings across its London office portfolio to close the year with more than 800,000 sq ft of leasing transactions – and occupancy across the 5m sq ft portfolio of nearly 98%.
Recent new lettings include recruitment specialists Phaidon International’s 10-year lease for 42,000 sq ft on the 7th floor of Citypoint, EC2; British gas distributor SGN’s lease for 14,000 sq ft at Nexus at 25 Farringdon Street, EC4; and the Association of British Insurers’ lease for 14,000 sq ft at 30 Fenchurch Street, EC3.
These were compounded by expansions by existing tenants which have amounted to nearly 185,000 sq ft and have included occupiers such as Royal Bank of Canada at 100 Bishopsgate, EC2, law firm Latham & Watkins at 1 Leadenhall, EC3, and Uber at Aldgate Tower, E1.
Martin Wallace, Head of Leasing at Brookfield Properties UK, said: “From these deals it’s clear that there remains strong appetite for high-quality buildings in the right locations.
“We’re especially pleased to be continuing our relationship with established, long-term tenants. Repeat business is something that the team at Brookfield Properties takes a lot of pride in as we continually work to deliver the best possible experience to our tenants.”
