Brookfield Properties submits plans for 99 Bishopsgate redevelopment

Brookfield Properties has submitted plans to redevelop 99 Bishopsgate, EC2, home to tech company Huawei, law firm Latham & Watkins and EG, among others.

The proposed development will seek to partially demolish the existing 28-storey office building to create a new 53-storey glass monolith – the fifth tallest in the City.

The proposals include 1m sq ft of office space, almost 13,500 sq ft of retail and food and beverage space on the ground level and a 26,000 sq ft stand-alone “cultural pavilion building”, which will be used for free exhibitions, commercial hire and as affordable creative workspace.

The project will also provide public realm improvements and pedestrian connections between Wormwood Street and Bishopsgate.
