Niche retail and leisure consultancy Bruce Gillingham Pollard has appointed Emily Dumbell to lead its new London neighbourhoods team as a director.
Dumbell has recently returned from maternity leave. She has been with the firm since 2012.
The London neighbourhoods team will specialise in advising on bringing a wide range of retail, leisure, wellness and other amenity uses such as health, childcare and co-working to locations around the capital. It is already working with major owners on projects in St John’s Wood, Wimbledon, Queen’s Park, Ealing and Wandsworth.
Tracey Pollard, managing director at BGP, said: “London neighbourhoods are proving increasingly vibrant as people explore different ways of achieving a work-life balance.
“When she joined us, Emily was part of our first graduate intake, and since then has consistently made a significant contribution to the development of our client base and range of specialist consultancy.
“She will be a perfect leader for our newly-formed London neighbourhoods team and her career with us is an example of the commitment we’ve made to achieving excellence and balance across our team.”
Dumbell said: “During lockdown, millions of Londoners rediscovered everything that their neighbourhoods have to offer, and that trend is continuing as many people balance commuting and working from home.
“To meet their needs – and those of the wider community – requires an understanding of how these multi-layered locations work, and what services and amenities are appropriate to them. We’re now working with a range of landlords and also occupier businesses of many different types to achieve this mix in neighbourhoods across London.”
