Two Birmingham property consultancies have merged to create one of the largest independent agencies in the Midlands.

The 160-year old auctioneer Bigwood has merged with Curry & Partners to create CP Bigwood.

The merged firm will be led by Curry & Partners’ Nigel Curry and Bigwood’s Rory Daly and will manage around £2.5bn of property. Fee income for the combined firm is expected to top £8m pa.

Daly said Curry’s strength in property management was one of the principal driving forces behind the deal.

He added: “We have been talking to Curry & Partners’ founders Paul and Nigel Curry for some time now as we recognised there were significant synergies and a greater market share to be achieved through a merger of two such compatible businesses.”
