Birmingham’s city centre office market reported the highest annual take-up for six years in 2014, buoyed by HS2’s large letting at Two Snowhill.
According to the latest figures from the Birmingham Office Market Forum, the annual take-up figure for last year was 713,460 sq ft – the highest since 2008.
A total of 148 deals were agreed, an increase of 20 from 2013. The figure was boosted by HS2 let of 97,958 sq ft at M&G Real Estate’s 303,000 sq ft Two Snowhill. Announced in the summer, the deal was signed just before Christmas. The building is now being fully let.
Meanwhile, Q4 2014 take-up was 341,164 sq ft, less than the 372,296 sq ft recorded in the same period in 2013.
