Bruntwood aims for ‘sustainability hub’ with revamp of Manchester’s Pall Mall

Bruntwood Works has submitted plans to revamp Manchester’s Grade II listed Pall Mall.

The developer wants to redevelop the three-block King Street site, which it bought last October, with 85,000 sq ft of office and hospitality space.

Bruntwood said it hopes the proposals will make it a “sustainability and wellbeing hub” that attracts “consciously-minded” tenants with strong ESG credentials. The scheme is expected to be operationally net zero carbon, and will include a wellness studio and gym.

Ciara Keeling, chief executive of Bruntwood Works, said: “This announcement marks a major milestone in our reinvention of the iconic Pall Mall building in the heart of the city centre… Given the complexity of retrofitting a listed building, we are aiming for our redevelopment of Pall Mall to provide a blueprint for projects in future, as this provides a more sustainable option than demolishing and building new.”
