Bruntwood bikers go round again

Family-owned commercial property company Bruntwood has raised more than £6,000 for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity, by holding its Ellipse cycle challenge for a second year.

The event was part of the firm’s plan to raise £500,000 in five years for the charity.

More than 240 cyclists took part in one of two cycle challenges. The Ellipse is a demanding, 55-mile ride taking in five Peak District hill-climbs, including the famous Cat and Fiddle route. The Mini Ellipse is a family-friendly cycle through Cheshire.

Bruntwood chief executive Chris Oglesby (pictured) tackled the Ellipse this year, on a tandem with his wife, Jane.
