A £50m investment by British Telecom on high-speed broadband connections is expected to boost regeneration on the banks of the Clyde in central Glasgow.
At least 18 office projects are under construction or have won planning permission in the proposed new financial services district stretching from Glasgow Central Station to Tradeston. Some £250m will be spent on creating 185,800 sq m (2m sq ft) of office space.
Glasgow council is looking to release more properties which will eventually extend west from Broomielaw beyond Kingston Bridge and create commercial office space on the south bank of the river for the first time.
