BT set to search for extra space in Birmingham

BT is launching a search for between 3,251 and 6,503 sq m (35,000 and 70,000 sq ft) of offices in Birmingham this year in the third phase of its Workstyle 2000 project in the city.

The telecommunications giant is already understood to have talked to Argent about options for 3,251 sq m (35,000 sq ft) at Brindleyplace.

Graham Seaman, a property manager at BT, confirmed that the company will be looking for more space when the deal to take offices at National Mutual’s Trinity business park completes. However, the company has yet to finalise the size and the nature of requirement.

BT has already taken 11,148 sq m (120,000 sq ft) in Brindleyplace which opens next month and it is negotiating to take a further 4,803 sq m (52,000 sq ft) at Trinity Park.

DTZ Debenham Thorpe has acted for BT at Trinity Park but an agent has not been appointed for the outstanding requirement.
