BT signs up for 53,000 sq ft at Trinity Park in Birmingham

British Telecom has finally signed up for the 4,920 sq m (53,000 sq ft) No. 1 Trinity Park at National Mutual’s business park in Birmingham. BT is paying just under £1m pa – a figure which includes the costs of the final fit-out.

The conclusion of the deal will allow National Mutual to progress with further speculative development on the site, close to Birmingham International Airport. It is currently proposing to build a 3,251 sq m (35,000 sq ft) HQ building.

BT is now searching to fulfil its third and final requirement in the region as part of its Workstyle 2000, said BT Property’s regional portfolio manager Graham Seaman. “We are now working on the final stage with a requirement in the city to accommodate the remaining BT staff in buildings of a similiar quality to 5 Brindleyplace and 1 Trinity Park.”

The size of the requirement has yet to be settled, but could be as much as 9,290 sq m (100,000 sq ft).

DTZ Debenham Thorpe acted for British Telecom. Both DTZ and Hillier Parker acted for National Mutual Life Assurance Society.
