BTR conversion planned for Glasgow office site

Calmont Ventures and Mactaggart & Mickel Anniesland have submitted a planning application to convert former office building 21 Herschell Street, in Glasgow’s Anniesland town centre, into a 123-home build-to-rent scheme.

The application proposes demolishing the existing four-storey building and building two separate apartment blocks of five and seven storeys with landscaped courtyard spaces, communal gardens, roof terraces and large private balconies or terraces for homes.

The application includes the provision of communal accommodation including internal and external amenity spaces and servicing.

The homes will be a mix of one-bed flats and larger two-bed corner flats, along with a smaller number of studio apartments

The planning application for the site said: “This development will bring residential footfall to Anniesland centre, supporting the local economy and promoting safety and security throughout the day and night.”
