Budget 2015: at a glance guide

BUDGET 2015  The chancellor George Osborne has unveiled his last Budget ahead of the general election and while there was an absence of major rabbits there were some significant property measures announced.

The headline-grabbing policy which was reserved for the culmination of the Budget speech was the introduction of a new Help to Buy ISA, which will effectively pay prospective first-time buyers bonuses to help them save a deposit.

As well as confirming the comprehensive review of business rates announced earlier this week, the chancellor also committed to allowing Manchester to keep 100% of the growth in business rates generated in the area. Deloitte estimates this will amount to £1.4bn.

Manchester will also benefit from a new tech accelerator space, for which Osborne has allocated £4m. EG has the full details of the facility, revealing the 87,000 sq ft lease it has agreed at the Federation building at NOMA.

In the South, a series of new measures were announced for London, focused principally on new home building.

Below is a handy guide to all of the regional measures announced contained in the Budget document.
