A hotel-type star classification system could be what’s needed for the build-to-rent sector following recent strong growth.
Some form of classification is likely to emerge in the near future, to help renters differentiate between the different levels of service, JLL associate research director Nick Whitten reckons.
JLL estimates London’s build-to-rent units are split along the lines of 38% luxury, 42% mid-range and 20% affordable.
