Hubert C Leach, parent company of estate developers and builders the Leach Group, have installed a RUCAPS Building Modelling System from GMW Computers of Berkhamstead. The system will be used to develop computer models of any Leach building product, and generate fully co-ordinated drawings and management data. In addition, ECLIPSE (see below) site survey data will be linked to the RUCAPS Building Models.
John Turner, director of Hubert C Leach, states that “The principal aim is to reduce the time taken to complete drawings, improve co-ordination in our different departments and have the ability to speed up the process of change”.
The CMW computer-aided design (CAD) software runs on a Prime 2350 minicomputer linked to a Concept 62 Workstation with a Sigmex colour screen. CMW Computers have provided over 60 similar systems to architects and building service engineers, and their workstation has been designed to meet the ergonomic requirements of such users.
