Land Securities and Hammerson said this morning that their Birmingham Alliance has signed leases or agreed terms for 95% of the expected annual retail income for the £530m BullRing shopping centre.
The centre is due to open on 4 September.
Selfridges and Debenhams will anchor the 1.2m sq ft (111,480 sq m) scheme and a further 64 retailers not previously represented in Birmingham have taken stores.
In addition, 18 retailers will be relocating from elsewhere in the city and 54 retailers will be taking units in the BullRing and retaining existing shops elsewhere in the city.
Hammerson chief executive John Richards said: “We shall open in early September and anticipate very few unlet units within the scheme.
“We have achieved zone A rents in excess of £300, with rent-free periods in line with our original forecasts.”
Joint letting agents are Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker, Jones Lang LaSalle, and Lunson Mitchenall.
