The Competition Commission has published a list of options for BUPA if it wants to proceed with its £230-£260m takeover of Community Hospitals Group (CHG)
They include the private healthcare group splitting into two. Other options are to sell a number of hospitals or run the insurance business and hospitals enterprise separately.
The commission said it would require Schroder Salomon Smith Barney to sell its 26.8% stake in CHG.
BUPA said it would write to the Competition Commission to voice its opposition to a split.
