Business confidence in the economy fell to its lowest level in over a year in August and was the second lowest since 2012, a survey by Lloyds Bank showed.
Optimism on the economy fell 12 points to 5%, while overall optimism was down 13 points at 17% – its lowest level since August last year.
Businesses were also less confident about their own prospects, with that measure falling 14 points to 29%.
